Jessica Jin (B.A. Government and Studio Art, Claremont McKenna College) has been involved with the Rose Institute since she was a student and was the New Hire Manager in 2016. After graduation, she served as a Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellow in the California State Legislature and a Legislative Aide to Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin. Following her time in the Capitol, Jessica founded a business, JJin Creative, and has built a network of clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Since 2022, she has been involved in the design and publication of the Rose Institute’s reports.

Douglas M. Johnson (B.A. Claremont McKenna College, M.B.A. UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management, Ph.D. Claremont Graduate University) is President of National Demographics Corporation. Johnson has been involved with the Rose Institute since his college years when he served as a Student Manager in 1991-92. He has assisted with Rose Institute research on Redistricting Reform, Census data use and analysis, and Geographic Information Systems. During his career with NDC, he has worked as a consultant to numerous state and local governments, including the state of Florida’s State Senate Committee on Reapportionment and the state of Arizona’s Independent Redistricting Commission for Congressional and Legislative Redistricting. He previously served as a Coro Public Affairs Fellow, a Legislative Director to U.S. Representative Stephen Horn, and a project manager for various software companies.

Justin M. Levitt ’06
Justin Levitt ’06


Justin M. Levitt (B.A. Claremont McKenna College; M.A. and Ph.D., UC San Diego) is Vice President of National Demographics Corporation.  He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at California State University Long Beach teaching comparative politics, Latin American politics, and international relations. A former Assistant Student Manager at the Rose Institute, he graduated cum laude from Claremont McKenna College in 2006 and went on to study political science at the University of California, San Diego.  His research focuses on redistricting and representation, with a particular emphasis on how redistricting institutions make decisions.

David Meyer ’12
David Meyer ’12

David Meyer (B.A. Claremont McKenna College) is a product management executive at Atlassian, Inc., responsible for the Jira product line. During his technology career, he has launched several new products and businesses and has extensive experience working with large corporations on team collaboration. A former Student Manager of the Rose Institute, he gained hands-on experience providing redistricting services to clients during the 2010 Census cycle. He lives in Boise, Idaho, with his wife Maren Hotvedt ’12 and is an avid trail runner, skier, and mountain biker.

Abhi M. Nemani (B.A. Claremont McKenna College; MPA USC; eMBA Stanford) is a Senior Vice President of Product Strategy at Euna Solutions.  He has founded, built, and led many influential GovTech institutions over the last 15 years, including the City of Sacramento’s Innovation Growth Fund, Los Angeles Mayor’s of Los Office of Data, and Code for America. He is also a mentor for Coding it Forward and a board member of Leading Cities, a global sustainability accelerator.

Ian E. O’Grady (B.A. Claremont McKenna College; M.Phil, Oxford University) is Policy Advisor to Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs. He was co-founder of the Phoenix Food Co-op and has worked for the Nowak Metro Finance Lab, Circonomy Solutions, the California Local Redistricting Project, and former Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton. He was the Rose Institute's Student Manager in 2014-2015 and was selected as a 2017 Marshall Scholar. As a Rose Institute Research Affiliate, Ian has analyzed primary election and redistricting systems.
